There is no doubt that lures with slender or minnow type profiles are usually very productive in pursuit of bass. However, in certain circumstances, lures with a deeper profile are required when bass are hitting mackerel, pollack, pouting and codling, for example.
A proven deeper profile lure for such occasions is the IMA Honey Trap. As it's name suggests the Honey Trap can be seriously enticing with it's big eyes and voluptious curves.

The Honey Trap is really quite a simple lure to fish with. A straight and slow retrieve will produce a slalom action; allow the lure to fall and it will produce an attractive flutter; use a faster, jerking technique and the lure will walk the dog and dart erratically and even a 'stop and fall' will make the lure jump proudly amidst the swell. Cast across the tide into slow moving water and the Honey Trap can be fished very effectively as a drift bait, the lure's movement will speed up as it comes round in the current, similar to that of any baitfish crossing turbulence.
It's not just the bass anglers that have been trapped by this sweet cheeked little number. Zander anglers are catching aplenty, particularly with the brighter colours and Perch are falling for the smaller (and even sweeter) 70mm version.
The shape of the Honey Trap is designed so as to create dazzling colour flashes as the lure turns in the water and it's humped back and tapered mid-rif provide perfect balance. Check out the Karutora limited edition models for their beautiful pearlescent effects.
The Honey Trap 90s is a lipless, sinking lure weighing 22g and features 2 separate shaft balancer weights.
Sweet.
