The Slug-Go Bass Lure
The Slug-Go lure appears as a remarkable imitation of our common sand eel in the UK and its action is nothing short of fascinating.
When fished correctly, the Slug-Go imitates a dying, struggling sand eel or launce; the ultimate quarry for predatory fish such as cod, pollack and in particular bass.
Realising that we may be missing a trick, we tested the lure on a bass shore fishing trip to our usual venues. The results were mind blowing and the lure out-fished every other lure we had ever relied upon and most importantly.... it out-fished live baits!
Soft plastic fishing lures have caused a revolution across the globe...but their potential has never been fully realised in the UK. To date we have only been offered lures that simply don’t offer a genuine imitation of the bait fish of the British Isles. Most of the soft plastic lures available in the UK base themselves around the basic patterns of weighted shads or rubber tailed eels. These lures are all designed to imitate a swimming fish and the lures action is predictable and consistent.
The Slug-Go is a lure which is designed in such a way that when worked properly (it is not sufficient to just wind it in) it mimics an injured, distressed bait fish. It has an erratic, random and unpredictable action which stimulates a predatory fish like the bass to attack. On top of this, the lure has the advantage of being virtually weedless enabling you to cover ground that would usually be dismissed casting a conventional lure.
The Slug-Go has never been widely available in the UK; its potential has been completely overlooked..................until now.
Once you have fished a Slug-Go on light spinning tackle and experienced a bass smashing it on the surface, you will be keen to change your lure fishing tactics.
In our view the Slug-Go is the most reliable soft plastic lure on the market in terms of its action and success rate, not to mention value for money.
